Sullair Showcases LS Series Rotary Screw Air Compressors at IMTS 2018

CHICAGO (Sept. 10, 2018) – Sullair, an industry leader in innovative compressed air solutions since 1965, will showcase its LS Series rotary screw air compressors at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) taking place September 10-15, 2018 in Chicago.

The LS Series – first introduced in 2017 – is currently available in horsepower ranges from 125-150 hp (90-110 kW) and can provide pressures from 110-175 psi (7.6-12 bar). The LS Series will soon expand to the next horsepower range delivering up to 200 hp (160 kW) and 200 psi (13.8 bar).

“We are very proud of the LS Series,” said Brit Thielemann, Senior Product Manager – Commercial & Industrial Air Solutions at Sullair. “The LS90-110 has been well received in the market, so we are excited to soon expand our offerings to the next horsepower range.”

The LS Series of compressors is the first to utilize a patent‐pending air end design. The air end takes proven bearing technology and combines it with a new, larger rotor profile – resulting in the most energy‐efficient single stage compressor Sullair has ever offered. Additionally, the new air end features all internal porting meaning fewer components are needed, which helps increase Sullair durability.

Long known for its stationary compressor offerings, the Sullair LS Series combines durability and reliability, while adding unprecedented ease of use and performance. The LS Series was designed with this promise in mind, and the compressor has many innovative features that make it stand out.

The LS Series offers AirLinx® Remote Monitoring. AirLinx allows customers to monitor all operational parameters in real time via computer, tablet or smartphone. AirLinx may also be customized to provide automatic alerts when an unexpected reading or fault occurs. This speed‐to‐alert helps users minimize unplanned downtime in their operations.

The LS Series also includes Electronic Spiral Valve technology to quickly adapt to fluctuating air demand in manufacturing facilities.

“The Electronic Spiral Valve represents the most cost‐effective capacity control option available today,” said Thielemann. “We have taken our decades of experience in spiral valve technology and significantly upgraded it with the use of electronic controls. This new technology maintains a very tight one PSI control band – effectively matching compressor supply to demand. Put simply, the Electronic Spiral Valve helps ensure our customers are not spending money making air which they don’t need.”

Other features included in the Sullair LS Series are a full enclosure, TEFC motor, Wye‐Delta starter, phase monitor and zero loss drain. Additionally, the LS Series provides numerous options to help customers meet their specific compressor needs.

Sullair SRL oil free compressor

Sullair Displays Expanded Oil Free Offerings at IMTS 2018

CHICAGO (Sept. 10, 2018) – Sullair, an industry leader in innovative compressed air solutions since 1965, will showcase its expanded oil free compressor line at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) taking place September 10-15, 2018 in Chicago. Following its acquisition by Hitachi in 2017, Sullair has combined the strength of both compressor companies to rapidly expand its oil free product offerings.

Built on Hitachi engineering, the SRL Series and DSP Series are the latest oil free offerings by Sullair. Both the DSP and SRL Series compressors are certified under the ISO standard – ISO 8573-1 – for Class 0 oil free air, making them suitable for a variety of applications requiring oil free air, such as food and beverage manufacturing, robotics, pharmaceuticals, automotive and high-technology manufacturing.

“Both compressors are ideal for applications where Class 0 oil free air is required,” said Friedmar Rumpel, Global Vice President of Product and Program Management at Sullair. “In many operations, compressed air comes into contact with items in the manufacturing process. Oil free compressors eliminate potential contamination because no oil or lubricant is introduced into the air compression process.”

The DSP Series is built on a Hitachi engineered package design based on more than 50 years of oil free rotary screw experience. As the newest joint stationary compressor offered between Sullair and Hitachi, the DSP Series features rotary screw dependability with the innovative air end design and variable speed technology offerings to help manage energy efficiency. With offerings from 30-300 hp (22-240 kW) at 125 psig, the DSP Series is suitable for applications requiring completely oil free air.

The DSP also offers a variable speed drive (VSD) that features a patented No Inlet Valve design. The VSD adjusts the speed of the motor to match the compressed air supply needed. This design provides the user with maximum energy efficiency and operating consistency.

“The energy costs associated with running an air compressor can quickly exceed the initial purchase cost,” said Rumpel. “The VSD allows our customers to be able to match compressor production capacity to their facility needs.”

Also built on Hitachi engineering, the SRL Series of oil free scroll air compressors is ideal for smaller shops and operations requiring oil free air. The SRL Series is powered by scroll compression technology, which allows continuous air movement from the suction port through the discharge port. Scroll compression provides pulsation free delivery of compressed air from 2-44 hp (1.5-33 kW) at 120-145 psig.

The SRL Series features an extremely quiet design suitable for indoor applications with noise levels as low as 48 dBA and does not require a separate sound attenuated room. The SRL may be installed at the point of use, resulting in lower installation and piping costs.

Sullair 1600H Tier 4 Final chosen for Rental’s 2017 Editor’s Choice Awards

Michigan City, IN (October 16, 2017) – Rental, a nationally recognized magazine serving equipment rental professionals for the past 39 years, has selected the Sullair 1600H Tier 4 Final portable air compressor as a recipient of one of its 2017 Editor’s Choice Awards!

The Sullair 1600H was chosen as a winner for the 2017 Editor’s Choice Awards based on several factors including innovation, utility for the rental market, and audience engagement online at ForConstructionPros.com/Rental.

Introduced to the general public at ConExpo 2017 in Las Vegas, the Sullair 1600H Tier 4 Final marks a triumphant return to the big air category. Powered by the legendary Sullair 25 Series air end and a reliable Caterpillar C15 engine, the 1600H provides versatile operation – delivering 1600 cfm at 100/150psi. Compared to previous models, the Sullair 1600H is 20 percent smaller and 2,500 pounds lighter making for easier maneuverability, storage, handling and transit. Improved usability was also key to the redesign. A durable seven-inch touch screen controller provides easy access to all compressor and engine operation information. Plus, an easy-operation valve provides simple connection to external diesel fuel supplies – extending jobsite run time beyond the standard 10 hours provided by the onboard fuel source.

Customer response to the new Sullair 1600H has been strong. “Our customers have been very attracted to the modern design,” according to Russell Warner, VP Rental & Infrastructure Sales for Sullair. “The touch screen controller makes jobsite operation simple and easy – with all operating parameters readily available. And the open design of the unit with access to all service items makes maintenance significantly easier – which helps extend the life of the compressor.”

“We wanted to launch a product that embodies our brand promise: Reliability, Durability and Performance,” Friedmar Rumpel, Global VP of Product and Program Management for Sullair said. “The Sullair team listened closely to our customers and developed a portable compressor which we feel is the best we have ever offered. The Rental Editor’s Choice Award is an affirmation of our team’s efforts to employ their passion and expertise to create value for our customers.”

“We’re excited to present the 2017 Editor’s Choice Award winners. As always, this year’s winning products represent the best of what leading manufacturers have to offer for today’s rental inventories,” says Jenny Lescohier, editor of Rental. “Products chosen for this honor are those that construction professionals have shown active interest in, so it follows they’ll be looking for them at their preferred rental source. We’re pleased to offer this useful insight to our readers.”

The editorial teams from Rental and ForConstructionPros.com/Rental compiled web page views from products featured online at ForConstructionPros.com/Rental and then considered those that received the most interest against a set of criteria to determine the winners. The result is the 2017 Editor’s Choice Awards, a listing of the industry’s favored products. Additional information on award recipients can be found in the October/November issue of Rental magazine and online at ForConstructionPros.com/Rental.
